Kettlebells offer a different kind of training using dynamic moves targeting almost every aspect of fitness such as endurance, strength, balance, agility and cardio endurance. Don't worry if you don't have one already as you can improvise with another hand weight of similar size, a tin of paint or a bottle of water even. Many supermarkets sell these in store and online stores can also send these directly to your home for convenience. Reps and sets will depend on intensity and your fitness level. If in doubt start with a lower weight, only move up once you have been past the 6-8 weeks stage and you don't have any issues. If you have underlying shoulder or low back pain issues, we would suggest the back strengthening programme first as this way you can build a solid foundation.
